Swedish M1845 ''Hjälm'' Pickelhaube

A scarce Swedish pickelhaube helmet worn by the infantry officers in the middle of the 19th century. The front plaque with the coat of arms of sweden was enameld in blue in contrast to NCO’s wich only had a brass plate.

Swedish M1845 ''Hjälm'' Pickelhaube

Description

A very scarce Model 1845 Swedish Infantry Officers pickelhaube (Hjälm) helmet dating from the mid 19th century. Made by L.A. Uiterbeck in Stockholm. The front bears the Swedish coat of arms on an enamel plaque with the three crowns which was worn among officers of the infantry. Alltough this model was untill the later Model 1886 was designed which was more comparable with the Prussian pickelhaube models wich saw their end in World War I.

Condition: Good condition, the leather is somewhat worn on the inside and the chin buckle is missing. Further in excellent condition with minimal signs of ware.
