A small French bronze cannon
Table cannons were made for several purposes. To open a fancy party, salute, as timekeeper or as presentationmodel.
This finely made example is casted in bronze and bares the initials ‘L.A’
The cannon is actually functioning and dated 1882. The touch hole is open and so is the smooth bore barrel.
Cannons like these were often made of cast iron or bronze. See also this mounted bronze tablecannon.
Condition: Excellent, great original patina and fully functioning.
Dimensions: 18.4 x 6.4cm
