A gold decorated French smallsword
An exquisite 18th century French officer sword with hand chiseled motives on the hilt, filled with gold inlay. The ricasso bears the infantry weapons ensamble. The triangular blade was engraved and originally blued and gilded.

A superb 18th century high ranked officers smallsword. Excellent details on the hilt wich has been chiseled and gilded and has gold inlay. Very fine silver wire surrounding the handle and a decorated pommel with several objects such as a helmet, a cannon, music instruments and floral motives in typical Louis XVI style. The blade is engraved with military motifs. Made in France circa 1760.
