A French swivel cannon
A late 18th century cast iron swivel cannon. Used to stand on a cast iron swivel on board of ships to signal other ships or mounted on fortress walls. Most likely French or Spanish, No markings on the barrel. These cannons were made in several dimensions for different purposes. This examples is the smallest they made for actual use, the load was minimum, but effective for firing a warning shot or even shrapnell to other ships in close range.
Condition: Good original condition, the cast iron has suffferd from some pitting, but is in fair condition.
