Description

A so called ”Shuangguo” (雙鉤) hook sword which are often found in pairs, but this seems to be a lone example. The hook sword was a typical Kung-Fu weapon and was demanded by martial artists and was quite well made. All parts are made of good quality and very sharp steel. The handle is wrapped in green silk and is discoloured due to it’s age.

This example dates from the 19th century and had a forged half moon shaped blade attached with two upraised bars to the handle and larger blade. The large straight blade curves parralel at the end.

Condition: The weapons is overall pitted, but still hard and sharp. The silk wrap around the handle is slightly discoloured.

Total length: 99cm
Handle: 10.5cm
Half moon blade: 28cm
