A fine example with very sharp blade in excellent condition. Typical bended handle wich is known for Buginese and Celebes knifes. This example dates from the 19th century, but the blade is likely older.

Description

A straight twist-core blade ”war” kris from Celebes (Sulawesi) The typical antropomorphic handle has a silver mendak and suits perfect to the blade. The pamor on the blade is Tebba Jampu which is typical for Celebes blades. The straight blade is seen by bladesmiths as a resting Naga. The wranka is made of kemuning wood and in fine condition. The typical handle is only found in Celebes (Sulawesi) and is considered to be one of the oldest types. The blade is in excellent condition and has a Gandja (guard) wich was attached to the blade.

Condition: Excellent, some minor signs of use.
